This platform provides a data infrastructure for private capital markets. The terms of the purchase transaction are not disclosed.

Aumni was founded in 2018 by former corporate lawyers Tony Lewis and Kelsey Chase. The investment analytics platform for private capital markets currently has a client base that consists of more than 300 institutions, including both novice venture managers who managed to prove themselves from the best side in the shortest possible time, as well as multinational asset managers with many years of experience.

The platform’s data analysis mechanism structures, tracks, and analyzes the main legal and economic conditions based on which transactions are concluded in the private market at the growth stage. Users have access to the most important conditions of portfolio investments under a simplified procedure.

The deal will be fully implemented in the first half of this year. In 2021, JP Morgan conducted a Series B for Aumni worth $50 million. The experience of interacting with the platform prompted the decision to purchase it.

Aumni is expanding its private markets suite following the launch of Capital Connect, a platform that helps startups connect with venture investors, and the acquisition of Global Shares, a provider of equity plan management software.

Michael Elanjian, Head of Digital Investment Banking, Head of Digital private Markets at JP Morgan, says that Aumni’s data structuring and portfolio monitoring solutions, combined with Capital Connect and Global Shares’ capital raising and capitalization table management services, expand the ecosystem of digital products offered by JP Morgan.

Aumni CEO Tony Lewis says that in the foreseeable future, the company will be able to create a best-in-class set of services for private market participants.

After the transition to the ownership structure of JP Morgan, Aumni will retain its headquarters in Utah and continue to serve the current customer base.

As we have reported earlier, JP Morgan to Open a Payments Innovation Lab in Athens.
