Global payment firm Mastercard?opened its new office along with the data and services (D&S) hub in the capital of Malaysia. The centre will build on the success of other hubs in both Asia and globally and serve clients across the Asia Pacific region with a suite of offerings beyond transactions.

The hub is expected to nurture a local talent pipeline focused on data science, product development and payments consulting. Besides, this dedicated?knowledge centre will support the organization in catering cybersecurity, credit risk, and data analytics solutions to its partners, thus, helping local clients and those across the region to scale and enhance their business potential.

??Currently, Mastercard’s D&S experts work with nearly 4,000 clients in over 120 countries across the globe. The?growing global team, which includes thousands of data scientists, engineers and consultants, offers solutions ranging from hyper-personalized loyalty programs to product prototyping and end-to-end marketing.

Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications and Digital, Malaysia, believes that the launch of Mastercard’s Data & Services Hub in Kuala Lumpur is mutually beneficial. For the country, it is a good opportunity to become a more integral part of the region’s digital landscape and strengthen the local talent pool.

In addition, the D&S centre will support businesses and governments in Malaysia and APAC in making more data-driven decisions and optimising their performance and profitability.

Ari Sarker, President, Asia Pacific, Mastercard, notes that many of the emerging markets across the APAC region “leapfrog some of the more conventional steps towards digitalization.” Such rapid growth will be boosted with dedicated expertise which will be offered by Mastercard’s newest Data & Services Hub in Kuala Lumpur.

Earlier this month, Mastercard launched Digital Doors Program to help SMBs enhance digital marketing and introduced Crypto Credential?solution to boost trust in blockchain.
