70% of Germans would like to choose logistics company that sends their orders
According to Ecommerce News, 70% of Germans would like to choose which logistics company sends their online orders.
When asked about the reason, the customers revealed that’s because it enables them to influence delivery reliability.
What is more, they would like to choose a delivery service whose parcel shop is most nearby. This makes picking up the online order more convenient for customers.
For 96% of consumers, it isn’t important whether the packaging is printed with the retailer’s logo or not. What’s more important to them is the impact the packaging has on the environment.
In fact, 42% of online shoppers would like to have their order shipped in an environmentally-friendly box and recycled cardboard.
German prefer to have their packages delivered at their homes. But if that’s not possible, 55% prefer to have the parcel stored in their garage or in the stairwell.
Picking up at a postal office or package station is also used by half of the respondents. For instance, a solution like ‘click & collect’ is used by only 28% of online shoppers.
Three-quarters of consumers don’t want to use delivery in the back of the car, the survey has found.
We’ve reported that Danish logistics firm DSV will invest about €270 million in a new logistics center. It will become Europe’s largest with just one leaseholder, covering 700,000 square meters.
