Amazon has opened its very first air freight center in Europe, according to Ecommerce News. The 20,000 square meter cargo facility is located at the Leipzig-Halle Airport in Germany and will be used to sort parcels and to load and unload trucks and aircraft.

The air freight center will create a new connection within the company’s European logistics network. Amazon has also leased two Boeing 737-800s, which have the typical design and logo of Amazon Air. These two airplanes will complement the existing fleet of over 70 aircraft that Amazon Air operates worldwide.
