eSIMs are modules that are embedded directly into devices thus providing cellular connectivity and storing network operator profiles
According to Juniper Research, the number of eSIMs installed in connected devices will rise from 1.2 billion in 2021 to 3.4 billion in 2025. That’s a 180%, the data states.
The independently assessed eSIM adoption and demand in the consumer, industrial, and public sectors. It assesses that the consumer sector will account for 94% of global eSIM installations by 2025.
It also forecasts that established adoption of eSIM frameworks from consumer device vendors, such as Apple and Google, will drive the development of eSIMs in consumer devices ahead of the industrial and public sectors.
In addition, Juniper Research found that global eSIM deployments across all consumer verticals will increase by 170% over the next 4 years.
