The acquisition price hasn’t been disclosed
According to Ecommerce News, Schwarz Gruppe, who owns Lidl and Kaufland, has acquired Real.de from SCP Group.
The report highlights that SCP Group didn’t own Real for very long as in February 2020, the company acquired Real from Metro AG.
In the future, Real.de is planned to operate under the name Kaufland, as part of Schwarz Gruppe’s digital business.
The marketplace is expected to complement the group’s stationery business. It is also anticipated to expand the offer for customers and trading partners across Germany and abroad.
We’ve reported that Lidl UK reportedly plans to launch its online shop later in 2020. The e-commerce website will focus on selling wine, spirits, and non-food items, instead of groceries.
