RBC announced the closure of a number of branches because of the coronavirus outbreak. For now, the Royal Bank of Canada is making decisions on which branches will close. The bank is consulting with local RBC leaders to ensure Canadians have access to the essential services they need.

I am incredibly proud of how our employees have come together to support one another and our clients during these unprecedented times. We are guided by federal, provincial and municipal governments, and public health authorities to ensure we do all we can to slow the spread of COVID-19. We remain committed to providing essential services to our clients throughout this situation
Katie Dudtschak, EVP, P&CB Regional Banking, RBC

Due to the fact that many RBC expert advisors are able to work remotely, they will be serving clients over the phone. This way, clients who may be experiencing financial impacts from COVID-19 will get the necessary help.

Besides, Canadians can still leverage ATMs, the RBC app or online banking that are available 24/7. This way, clients will be able to view account balances and transaction history. Their RBC credit card account information will be available as well.

In addition to that, Canadians will be allowed to send money with Interac e-Transfer and make bill payments.
