These temporary closures will not affect workers’ job security
RBC announced the closure of a number of branches because of the coronavirus outbreak. For now, the Royal Bank of Canada is making decisions on which branches will close. The bank is consulting with local RBC leaders to ensure Canadians have access to the essential services they need.
Due to the fact that many RBC expert advisors are able to work remotely, they will be serving clients over the phone. This way, clients who may be experiencing financial impacts from COVID-19 will get the necessary help.
Besides, Canadians can still leverage ATMs, the RBC app or online banking that are available 24/7. This way, clients will be able to view account balances and transaction history. Their RBC credit card account information will be available as well.
In addition to that, Canadians will be allowed to send money with Interac e-Transfer and make bill payments.
