Northern Ireland electricity supplier Share Energy partnered with PayPoint – a business offering a system for paying energy bills at local convenience stores.

Share Energy Customers Can Top Up Energy Bills at PayPoint

The newest addition to the list of electricity suppliers in Northern Ireland, Share Energy, announced that all its pre-payment customers can now top-up their electricity meters in any of PayPoint’s 1,167 stores in the country.

Established in 1996, the PayPoint network was designed to help users manage their energy consumption more effectively, support environmental efforts, and control their spending to stay within limited budgets. Approximately 40% of customers currently use prepayment meters for their electricity and gas. This share has remained relatively stable over the past five years.

Share Energy offers energy services to both residential and commercial users in Northern Ireland. The locally-owned supplier went public in September, committing to share 50% of all future profits with its customers. Its profit-share revenue model is designed to reward loyal customers for their ongoing support and commitment. Each customer’s profit share will vary based on their energy usage throughout the financial year.

“Our extensive research has shown that Northern Ireland customers are fed up with paying over the odds to electricity suppliers who are raking in substantial annual profits for their shareholders. We believe our profit-sharing model will transform the market here, whilst also underlining our commitment to fairness, transparency, and value. We want to revolutionise the energy market – ensuring our customers directly benefit from our growth.”

Share Energy CEO, Damian Wilson

Among other competitive benefits, Share Energy also claims to provide the lowest standard unit rate for residential customers. The supplier is determined to continue that commitment to ultra-competitive pricing, offering an alternative to customers who don’t have their income grow as fast as suppliers’ prices and “feel exploited by companies prioritising the profits of shareholders over the wellbeing of customers.”

Partnership with PayPoint is a way for Share Energy to provide reliable, convenient payment options that enhance customer experience.
